I believe there are a few inaccuracies/discrepancies here and there, depending on who you ask, what you want to believe, and who's source you're willing to call 'legitimate'. I can't commentate officially, but the reload rate has to do with historical capabilities, usually in the "best case" scenario, or the speed that crews were required to train to. If the shells were in a raised box directly behind the breach as they are on the flakbus, then sure I would totally understand the 4.2 second reload, but the awkwardness of retrieving the shells makes me doubt the current reload speed of an expert crew. I know it is a game and some balance or realism and "for the same of gameplay" must be achieved, but I feel the VFW isn't taking realism seriously enough. How is it sacrificing realism for gameplay when even at 6 seconds reload, the VFW will still be a nasty killing machine and does not need an unrealistic buff just to be competitive? I don't want fully realistic as that would probably incur a load of random breakdowns, engine failures and other realistic traits of tanks. I don't see why the VFW would be the exception to this. You also have them adding and removing certain shell types from tanks because they historically did or didn't have it. They ♥♥♥♥ about with changing reloads quite a bit to be more realistic or balanced. you have to sacrifice some realism for the sake of gameplay, if you really want to go fully realistic they would open and take from the ammo storage from the hull and give it to the loader, even then it is still possible to get a sub 6 sec reload provided the tank dont move. Originally posted by Demonic Cookie:Okay that explains part of it, but again accessibility of the shells. The VFW's ammo storage looks so inconvenient to get to.ĭid the Germans give VFW crew some sort of drug to make them stronger and faster, thus being able to lob so many 88mm Bratwurst sausages at incoming allied tanks? I mean even the rank 2 Flakbus can only achieve a 5.4 second reload with the same amount of loaders at the rear of the turret with a much more ergonomically accessible ammo storage at the rear of the halftrack. Also somehow managing this even when the turret is hindering the accessibility of the ammo storage. I assume by looking at it, that the crew lift off panels on the floor to grab shells and cram them into the breach. ![]() I just don't understand how to reload is so fast for the placement and accessibility of the shells. ![]() how the hell is the reload 4.2 seconds with expert crew, maxed out leadership and reloading and with the side skirts down even possible?ĭon't get me wrong I love using the VFW and fighting it too. Looking at the placement of the big 88mm shells on the VFW and the fact that depending on where the gun is facing can block where the ammo is. Please do educate me as to why the VFW has such a quick reload. CBA to ask this before, but I am asking it now.
